Beloved actor Lance Reddick may have passed away but his legacy lives on in many forms, including future Destiny 2 events. Bungie has confirmed that the late actor was able to record more lines for his character, Commander Zavala, before his untimely death.
Announced during the weekly Destiny blog from Bungie, it was stated that Reddick will be honoured through unreleased performances that will appear in future updates. It will be interesting to see just how many times we’ll be able to see Reddick’s Zavala in these upcoming events.
“For now, we will honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game, and in the memories that will last us a lifetime,” claims the post. “We are deeply saddened by his passing but so thankful for the time we spent together, and our thoughts are with his friends and loved ones.”
Many Destiny 2 players paid tribute to Lance Reddick by bowing in front of Commander Zavala when the news was announced. The iconic actor was not only a huge fan of games but also Destiny. In fact, the night before he passed away, but he was one mission away from finishing the new expansion.
Bungie’s live service FPS game is currently in the middle of a brand-new arc of story content. While we don’t know how much Reddick recorded for future updates, we expect his character will appear until the end of this arc.
Destiny 2 isn’t be the only unreleased game featuring performances from the John Wick actor. It was recently announced that Reddick lent his vocals to the upcoming Hellboy Way of Wyrd video game, voicing the title character.
