Is The Sims on Nintendo Switch?
The Sims has been traditionally seen as a PC game. But more recent versions have started making the leap into the console world. The Sims 3 for example, was made available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and eventually made it to the Nintendo Wii as well.
Sadly though, at the moment, none of the games are available on the Switch at all. Even The Sims 4, which made it onto PS4 and Xbox One, failed to cross over onto the Switch. Back in 2020, EA announced a handful of games that would be launched on Switch, but there was no run for any Sims content, as reported in gamesindustry.biz:
At the time, CEO Andrew Wilson responded that EA has "a lot of data" showing that "a great many Switch owners also own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One or a PC, and very often choose to play the games that we make on those platforms even though they have a Switch and they enjoy a lot of great content on the Switch."
Can I play The Sims 3 or The Sims 4 on Nintendo Switch?
At the moment, no entry in The Sims series is available on Switch, including the third game.
The above statement certainly suggests that EA does not have any great appetite for making the franchise available to Nintendo. They haven't done so since the Wii back in 2010. But the fact that they made seven games available last year, may suggest that this position is softening.

Will they ever come to the Switch?
EA have yet to announce The Sims 5. The fourth game is now nearly seven years old. So it feels likely that a new game is somewhere in the pipeline.
Which begs the question of whether or not they might decide to make it available to Switch users. At this time, all we can really do is wait and see.
