Icarus Game Xbox Release Date
At the time of writing there do not appear to be any plans for Icarus to be available on Xbox, or any other games console for that matter. Whether the developers intend to expand the platforms that the game is available on, we'll have to wait and see. If we're lucky, there will be scope in the future for the game to make the leap from PC to Xbox.
As always, we'll be sure to update you if anything changes in relation to an Icarus game Xbox version. But if you've never heard of this game before, what's it about? Why should you be remotely interested in it? Let's see.
What Is Icarus?
Icarus is a "session-based PvE survival game for up to eight co-op players". The premise of the game is that humanity attempted to terraform a planet. Unfortunately, the terraforming went wrong, creating a brutal environment which only brave prospectors are willing to explore, in order to acquire valuable resources.
With the game being session-based, this means that you only have a limited time to explore the planet and complete each mission. At the end of the alloted time you need to return to your drop ship and escape the toxic environment. You can play cooperatively with up to seven other players, as you attempt to complete missions and acquire resources. But, if you prefer, you can also play the game solo. It might just be a bit harder.
Each mission is known as a prospect. You choose which ones you want to tackle, with 35 different prospects available at launch. These range from hunting missions, to delivering survey equipment to specific locales. And everything is time-bound. You must return to your drop ship before time expires. Failure to do results n your character losing all progress and tech.
If this sounds like an intriguing premise, Icarus is now available on Steam for anyone who wishes to give it a try. Whether it will eventually make it onto Xbox though, is as mysterious as the planet the game is based on.
