The base stations for your HTC Vive headset make your VR experience a more realistic and engaging one. But how many of those do you actually need?
Usually, two base stations are enough. They can already provide a smooth-sailing adventure for you in those VR worlds.
However, some people embody the saying 'the more the merrier.'
And here's what you need to know on how many base stations do you need for your HTC Vive:
Two is enough, but you can do up to four
There you have it. Two base stations are already good but why not make it three or four?
According to the official support page for HTC Vive, you can set up to four base stations on a single room sized at around 10 m x 10 m (32 ft 10 in x 32 ft 10 in).
This will surely dazzle up your VR experience and bring it closer to a feeling of reality.

HTC Vive base stations versions 1.0 and 2.0
But hey, heads up first!
There are two versions of the HTC Vive base stations available - versions 1.0 and 2.0.
If you're trying to add new base stations to your set-up, make sure you match them to your original ones: version 1.0 base stations will NOT work with version 2.0 base stations, and vice versa.
