Privacy is a topic that's become incredibly prevalent during the last decade, which is why VPN apps have arisen.
They essentially hide your IP address which can contain your location, so whatever device you view content on with a VPN, you're protected.
However there are added benefits, such as switching countries for streaming apps like Netflix and Hulu to gain access to shows not available in the UK, which is why ExpressVPN is a great choice to protect all your devices.
With this in mind, here's how to install ExpressVPN on an iPad.
Download and install ExpressVPN on iPad
Apps downloaded to an iPad are from the same, unified App Store that's available on the iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Most apps can run on both, but there are 'Universal' variants that allow an app to take advantage of the bigger screen of an iPad, and vice versa.
- Head to the App Store and search for ExpressVPN.
- Tap on 'GET' and it will automatically download the app.
- Tap on 'OPEN' and ExpressVPN will launch, asking for your account details.
It's not a simple matter of pressing 'ON' and your device is protected; an account will be required to register your device with the service.
Manually set up and install ExpressVPN on your iPad
According to the official support page for ExpressVPN, you can have the option to manually set up and install the service if you wish, but we do recommend to use the app as it's all done automatically that way.
- Use the Safari browser to download the VPN configuration file.
- Go to the ExpressVPN setup page on your iPad’s Safari browser and sign in with your personal details.
- Click Sign In and head to your email to get the verification code that was sent after doing so.
- Enter the code in the email and it will direct you to the Setup window. Follow the final step and you will receive a configuration file.
You can now install the VPN configuration file by carrying out the following:
- Go to Settings, select General, and the Profile option.
- Click ExpressVPN and tap Install.
- Select Install.
ExpressVPN can also allow other devices to be installed; not just iOS and iPadOS, but check your account to see how many devices on your account are left to install the configuration script.
