By now you’ve paired and set up your personalised profile - with a little help from our guide - and now you’re wondering how you can get the most out of your Nuraphone?
Even without taking the personalised audio into account, the Nuraphone is packed with fantastic features which can be easy to miss.
In order to really get the most out of the unique headphone, you’ll want to master every little feature it offers.
So, you’ve got your music playing, and it sounds fantastic, but just what else does the Nuraphone have hidden up its sleeves?
Immersion Mode
We touched on immersion mode in the previous guide. Immersion essentially amps up the audio to provide what Nura dubs a ‘gig-like audio experience’. In lamen’s terms, it turns the bass level up and down.
Changing the immersion level is as simple as going into the Nura app while the Nuraphone is connected, and sliding the bar at the bottom of the screen.
We would recommend going for one or two below the maximum immersion, as this seems to be the sweet spot between bass and clarity.
Remappable controls
The Nuraphone itself does not feature any external buttons, but both ears can be tapped to control elements of your music or calls.
There are four controls, one tap and two taps on either side. The buttons can be remapped within the Nura app settings. Press the three grey lines at the top left of the app to open the menu, tap on device settings and you’ll see ‘Configure touch buttons’ at the top of the screen.
You can remap the touch buttons to control features like skipping tracks, changing the volume and answering calls.
We recommend setting up the left and right double taps for changing songs. Set the left single tap for social mode (more on that shortly) and the right tap for pausing songs and answering calls.
Social Mode
One of the most useful features in the Nuraphone is its social mode. With the press of a button you can turn the headphone’s mics on, providing you with clear hearing of the outside world.
This feature is especially useful if you work in a busy workspace, and you need to listen to a colleague talking to you. Rather than go through the process of taking the Nuraphone off, you can simply tap the headset on either side and gain a clear audio feed of what they are saying.
You can turn the feature off and on by assigning it to one of the programmable buttons, it’s as simple as that.
Active noise cancellation
There’s one last big trick the Nuraphone has hidden up its sleeve, active noise cancellation. This mode is designed to help blockout external noises so you can focus on music or get on with some work.
Click on the menu button at the top left and scroll down to active noise cancellation. Once it’s turned on, the outside world should be a touch quieter now.
