How To Edit Tweets On Twitter

If you are wondering how to edit tweets on Twitter, then you’re not alone.

Most of us have made this mistake: We tweet something with a typo or a grammatical error and only realise it after it is live. At that moment, you wish Twitter had an edit button, so you could go edit your tweet, to save yourself from embarrassment.

Well, your wish has been granted. Twitter is working on adding an "edit" button to tweets. In this article, we will show you how to edit tweets on Twitter. Let's get started!

Can You Edit Tweets on Twitter?

It's safe to say that editing has been the most requested Twitter feature for many years. In contrast to Facebook or Instagram, which allows users to edit their posts, Twitter has been rather silent on the issue. That's all about to change, however.

Earlier in April, Twitter announced that it is working on a new feature that will allow users to edit their tweets after posting them. You will be able to correct typos without losing any replies, retweets, or likes that have already been accrued.

According to the latest announcement, they are testing Edit Tweet internally to gather feedback and identify and resolve potential issues. The announcement blog gave us a sneak peek at how an edited tweet would look like.

Apparently, Edited Tweets appear with a pen icon along with a label and timestamp so the readers know that the original Tweet has been modified.

There is no concrete date on when the Edit feature will be released to the public. However, later this month, Twitter Blue subscribers will get access to the Edit Tweet feature.

Presently, the only way to fix our typos and other mistakes was to delete the tweet and start over. This is a huge waste of time and effort.

With Twitter's new editing feature, you will be able to edit your tweets a few times in the 30 minutes following their publication. You will save yourself a great deal of time and embarrassment. Here's how - we think - editing a tweet would look.

  • First, find the tweet you want to edit.
  • Tap the three dots icon and select Edit Tweet.
  • Do the changes you want to make.
  • When you are done, tap Update and your changes will be reflected in the tweet.

We like to reiterate that the edit feature isn't available yet for the public. Because the company hasn't announced the exact timeline, we don't know when it will be available. We'll update this post as soon as Twitter releases the feature for all users.
