How to cancel PS Plus and stop auto-renewal payments

Maybe you just don't feel like you're getting the most out of your PS4 any more. Maybe you've just bought yourself a fancy new PC, and you're now sickened by having to pay for an online service.

No matter what the reason is, sometimes you just need to cut ties with your PS Plus subscription, and doing so isn't as easy as you might think.

How to cancel your PS Plus on your PS4

Good news for those of you who refuse to do anything on anything that isn't a PS4, you can cancel your PS Plus and the auto-renewals really easily just using your PS4, here's how to do it.

  • Head to your Settings
  • Select Account Information
  • Select PlayStation Network Services
  • Select your PS Plus Subscription
  • Select Turn Off Auto-Renew

That's it, that's everything you need to do to stop accidentally buying another subscription. This works with all of the subscriptions you can purchase via PS4 too, so keep it in mind for PS Now if you use it.

How to cancel your PS Plus on your PC

Right then, you've just set up your PC, you know that the way you're going to game is about to change forever. You're ready to ditch your PS4 and never look at it again, Sony is dead to you now, at least until the PS5 comes out.

Here's how to cancel your auto-renewal via your PC.

  • Head to the Subscriptions Management section of the PSN site.
  • Select Turn Off Auto-Renew
  • Bask in the glory of the extra minutes you've saved yourself by not fussing on your PS4, use that extra time to do some push-ups, then some sit-ups, then have a cake.
