With that, lets go into more detail about the console, and why it should be something you should consider.

What is the CAPCOM Arcade Retro Console?

Released late last year, it's an arcade joystick for up to two players that features sixteen games.

Every one is powered by the 'FB Alpha' emulator, which for years has been focused on emulating Capcom arcade games as accurately as possible.

The games featured on the console are:

  • 1944 The Loop Master
  • Alien vs Predator
  • Armored Warriors
  • Capcom Sports Club
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots
  • Dark Stalkers
  • Eco Fighters
  • Final Fight
  • Ghouls n' Ghosts
  • Gigawing
  • Mega Man The Power Battle
  • Progear
  • Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting
  • Strider
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

The usual ones are here, such as Ghouls and Ghosts and Street Fighter, but there are some which are still a surprise to see.

A Couple of Games You Should Try!

While you may go straight for a match on Street Fighter II, there's plenty more which may peek your interest.

Aliens vs Predator was released back in 1994, and while a home port to the SEGA 32X was planned, it remained exclusive to arcades, until this console arrived. It's an incredible beat-em-up game which is up there with Streets of Rage and X-Men, and well worth your time, especially when in 2-player.

Another is Captain Commando. You may have seen this character before in the 'Marvel VS Capcom' games, but this is where it began. Released in 1991, it did see a home release, but it's been widely-agreed that the arcade version is the superior version. With special attacks between four characters to choose from, there's a lot to like here.

There's a good chance this deal won't last long, so for £99.99 you could have a fantastic retro arcade machine hooked up to your 4K TV.
