Hitman 3is finally available, bringing the World of Assassination trilogy to a satisfying close across all gaming platforms (yes, even the Nintendo Switch).
As with Hitman 2, avid Hitman fans are able to bring over their progress from Hitman 3's predecessors into the new game, alongside playing both games in the updated engine.
If you're unsure where to start ahead of your Hitman 3 playthrough, here's what you need to do.
How to carry over Hitman saves to Hitman 3
Transferring saves to Hitman 3 cannot be done on your console or in-game, but needs to be done on a web browser via the IO Interactive site.
You will first need to create an IOI account via the IOI website here. You will then want to link your IOI account to your PlayStation/Xbox/Steam/Epic account, depending on what platform you play Hitman on.
Once linked, Hitman 3 will prompt you to transfer over your save data when you first boot up the game, which you should then accept.
It's worth noting there are a few caveats here. First, Hitman save data will not transfer cross-platform. This means you cannot transfer your data from an Xbox account to a PlayStation account, or from Stadia to Switch, for example.
Transferring over your save data from Hitman 2 also will cause you to lose all progression in Hitman 3. We'd suggest you do this transfer as soon as you first launch Hitman 3 rather than jumping straight into the Dubai level.

How to play Hitman 1 and 2 on Hitman 3
With Hitman 3 closing out the World of Assassination trilogy, IOI allows Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 owners to play the first two games within Hitman 3 as detailed in IOI's in-depth pre-launch guide.
To do this, you first will need to transfer over your Hitman 1 data into Hitman 2. This may seem a bit pointless given you will soon be ditching Hitman 2, but this is required as Hitman 3 only scrapes data from Hitman 2, and not the original. You will need to have both Hitman 1 and 2 downloaded, and open Hitman 2. Here, you will be able to redeem the 'Legacy Pack' via Hitman 2's in-game store.
Once installed, you can close Hitman 2 and open up Hitman 3. Here, the game will automatically detect what you have installed, and offer you the Access Pack accordingly, granting you access to all the levels you previously owned.
