Hi-Fi Rush has quickly become the biggest Xbox game in years, climbing sales charts and receiving plenty of positive attention from gamers. The secretive stealth-dropped Game Pass game has already become one of Xbox’s most beloved exclusives.
A post on the Xbox Series X subreddit has revealed just how successful this new IP already is. So far, Hi-Fi Rush has become the no. 2 gaming topic on Twitter, the fourth-most bought game on Steam, and has a 98% rating in Steam reviews. Needless to say, the game is a huge success.
It’s worth noting that the Steam games that beat Hi-Fi Rush are Hogwarts Legacy, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and the Dead Space remake. Those are all based on well-known properties, so the fact that this Xbox exclusive is a brand-new IP that came out of nowhere is crazy.
Many fans praised Xbox’s decision to release this game with such confidence, to the point that the official account replied to some of the praise. Considering how Xbox has had to go through the “Microsoft has no games” joke for the longest time, it’s good seeing them get a win.
Fans are also crediting Game Pass, which continues to be the saving grace of Xbox. The fact that Hi-Fi Rush was dropped on the service for the world to try was an extremely confident move from the publisher. While the company did promise to do this for all their exclusives, doing so with only a few minutes of the hype is surprising.
Of course, it’s not just the team at Microsoft who deserve all the praise. Tango Gameworks, who worked on Ghostwire: Tokyo and The Evil Within, developed this fun, rhythm-based game. It’s the first Xbox exclusive they’ve released after Microsoft purchased Bethesda, who owns Tango, so this was a homerun first effort.
So, if you haven’t yet, Hi-Fi Rush is readily available on Xbox Series and Steam.
