Halo Infinite is one of the most eagerly anticipated Xbox Series X games around. It's coming soon too, with it probably releasing around the same time as the console itself.
It's going to be massive, of course, we don't know if it'll be good yet, but it'll probably sell well irrelevant of that anyway.
This is especially true thanks to Xbox Game Pass, but that's not the only thing that Halo Infinite has going for it.
In fact, you might not even need Xbox Game Pass.
Halo Infinite's multiplayer is going to be free to play
While rumours initially started circulating about the multiplayer in Halo Infinite being free, nobody expected Microsoft to just come out and tell us one way or the other.
Nevertheless, that's exactly what they did in a tweet that reads "Halo is for everyone. We can confirm #HaloInfinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will support 120FPS on Xbox Series X. More details will be shared later!"
This is a huge deal for any FPS game, but it's not just the price that's exciting here, the performance is astounding too.
While 120FPS is probably unachievable on current-gen consoles, the idea that we could hit it on the Xbox Series X is very exciting, especially if they can keep the graphical fidelity up too.

How will this work with Xbox Live Gold?
There is, however, still one question that remains unanswered. Even if the Halo Infinite multiplayer is free, how can people play it without Xbox Live Gold?
Assuming the aim here is to make it accessible to everyone, then you'd need to allow it to be played online even without Xbox Live Gold.
This could change how some games are priced, or how Xbox Live Gold works entirely.
Of course, we'll not know anything for sure until Microsoft decides to talk about it again, but it's certainly worth keeping in mind.
