- Supergiant Games announced a technical testing period for Hades 2
- Players can register via Steam
- Hades 2 will launch in early access during Q2 2024
Supergiant Games has announced that Hades 2 is getting close to an early access release and will start playtesting the game with a technical test open to players via Steam.
In a blog posted on their official website, Supergiant clarified that the plan is still to launch Hades 2 in early access during Q2 2024, with the technical test serving to iron out issues before the game is publicly available.
The technical test contains much less content than what's in store for the early access launch, and may be available only to a relatively small subset of players who express interest in participating
If you're interested in playing the technical test, you can request access via the official Hades 2 Steam page. Simply scroll down and click the "Request Access" button on the Hades 2 playtest section.
The Hades 2 technical test will let players play in the first major area of the game. Even if you bet the boss to access the next zone, the technical test will end and send you back to the beginning.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that your technical test save will not transfer to the early access or any other version of Hades 2.
Now, Supergiant Games did remark that the technical test is intended for a small subset of players, so it won't be easy to get in. However, since there isn't a timeline set in stone for when it's beginning or ending, players have a chance to get into the playtest in subsequent waves if they don't manage to get in right away.
Finally, Supergiant revealed the system requirements needed to smoothly run the Hades 2 technical test:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Dual Core 2.4 Ghz
- Memory: 4GB RAM
- Graphics: 2GB VRAM / DirectX 12+ support
So that's it, we'll have plenty of Hades 2 content in the near future as we're getting closer to early access. In the meantime, check out what we thought of the original Hades.
