Breakdown

  • Gigabyte is reportedly releasing an exclusive 4080 Super Xtreme ICE in the coming months, in a now-deleted Facebook post
  • While the details were shared on April Fools’ Day, the post has since been deleted, hiding the elaborate details from public view
  • The bundle that includes the Xtreme ICE graphics card will be limited to just 300 units, so you probably can’t buy it anyway

Buying a new graphics card is an expensive endeavour, especially if you opt for some of the best graphics cards on the market. However, the allure of having a 4080 Super is certainly enticing, and this Gigabyte 4080 Super looks like something I'd love to have in my setup. Unfortunately, most of us won't be able to get our hands on it.

As spotted by VideoCardz, the PC component producer, Gigabyte, is looking to release an exclusive limited-edition version of the 4080 Super, titled the Xtreme ICE model, which offers a unique version of the Gigabyte AORUS Xtreme line of GPUs from the company. The slides for the presentation were shared on Facebook, according to VideoCardz, but the post has since been deleted.

Unfortunately, the post was shared on April Fools' Day, but the article suggests that the numerous slides, elaborate details, and the fact it has been deleted suggest that the model is legitimate, but the rarity is a joke regardless. If you've been wanting to pair this excellent looking GPU with your best gaming monitor, you'll probably be out of luck.

This is because the bundle that the 4080 Super arrives in will be limited to just 300 units, making your chances of capturing the Xtreme ICE variant exceedingly rare. And, considering how exclusive the bundle is, it likely won't be cheap either. However, if you can get your hands on one, the bundle will reportedly include an AORUS Z790X Xtreme ICE motherboard, an AORUS 1000W Platinum PSU, and an AORUS WaterForce X II 360 AIO. It will apparently release in Q2 2024.

While I'm dying to pair my best PC case, which happens to be a white Corsair 4000D, with this excellent and sleek-looking bundle, I doubt it will happen anytime soon. Not only will the price be way out of my budget, but I'm not sure I'll even get the chance to order it if I had the money lying around. Alas, it's just a pipe dream, one that I wish would come true.
