Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PC this May and gamers can’t wait to max this open-world title out on their cutting-edge computers. Thankfully, it’s not just for the best gaming computers, as its Steam description does hint at Steam Deck compatibility, which is always a good thing.
On the “About This Game” section of Ghost of Tsushima’s Steam Page, it says that this samurai title will have a wealth of graphics options for players to choose from. It ranges from high-end PCs to portable PC gaming devices, the latter of which hints at Steam Deck compatibility.
It will be interesting to see if Sucker Punch’s open-world slasher will be Steam Deck Verified from the get-go, or will require an update. While most fans won’t care about it being “verified” or “unsupported,” keep in mind that PlayStation’s The Last of Us was pretty rough on Steam Deck at first. Fans may want to wait for reviews before immediately picking this up for their powerful handheld.
While fans should proceed with caution, the fact that it was listed in the game’s description does show that these devs have the Deck in mind. Even if the more maximized experience will be on PC, there’s no denying that playing Ghost of Tsushima on the go will be the default for many players. Luckily, Nixxes is the company porting this game, which means it should be fine on handheld if Ratchet & Clank and Marvel’s Spider-Man are anything to go by.
For those who haven’t picked it up yet, Ghost of Tsushima is a pretty good PlayStation Studios game, with solid combat and stealth mechanics. It’s easy to see why the game reviewed highly when it came out on PS4 back in 2020, pushing the last-gen hardware. Now that it’s coming to PC, more fans will be able to see why this game has such a strong fanbase.
