Who doesn't love Snapchat? Everyone likes to use it to chat in new and fun ways with their friends and families, along with potentially meeting new people. But that doesn't mean that, like any other app, there might be problems and issues using it. Having problems with the Snapchat "Tap to Load" glitch?
Several users have been reporting this particular problem, along with other issues such as code SS06, error code C14A and Snapchat is a camera app.
But luckily, there are a few simple fixes that seem to address the problem so we can get back to using the app normally. Read on to find out how to fix the Snapchat "Tap to Load" glitch.
How to fix the Snapchat "Tap to Load" glitch
There are several different ways you can address this problem. Ranging from simply rebooting the app, down to clearing the cache of the app, let's look at them in more detail.
Reboot your phone or the app
This should be your first method, as it saves time and has zero risks. Usually, also a clear reboot of the app or, even better, the phone can probably help with fixing glitches and other issues with Snapchat or other apps as well.
Turn off Optimization and Data Saver mode
If you have any of the recent smartphones, then probably your phone has a way to optimize apps to either save on data connection or battery, by - for example - limiting how much they can run in the background or use the data connection.
This is great for your battery but often can resolve problems with apps that need to be constantly updated to show you messages and notifications. We would, then, recommend turning off both modes for Snapchat, as that will assure you the app will work correctly in the future.
Clear app cache
This is a good idea as it can reset the app and solve not only the "Tap to Load" glitch but Snapchat crashing issues or weird behaviours you have been seeing. The method to clear the cache is clearly only for Android users, as iOS doesn't let you do that.
To clean the cache for Snapchat, follow these steps:
- Open Settings on your Android phone.
- Select Apps & notifications > Snapchat in Settings.
- Choose Storage & cache on the app page.
- Select "Clear app cache" on the page
Now you can try relaunching the app again and see if the problem is fixed.
What is the Snapchat "Tap to Load" glitch?
This glitch seems to be related to an error when trying to load certain snaps, with Snapchat asking the user to "Tap to Load", but when one taps nothing happens. The app seems stuck in a loop, without a way to reload the snap or get out of the error page.
This seems to happen for a variety of reasons, clearly, an unstable internet connection might also be the issue at hand here. Perhaps, a recent update of the Snapchat app has had unintended consequences and now the glitch seems to happen a lot.
We would recommend trying our fixes first, along with checking for updates to your phone's OS, but if all else fails definitely think about asking for assistance from Snapchat support.
