If keeping an odd-looking ship with a mind of its own afloat while sailing around a distinctive landscape sounds like the sort of game you may enjoy, then Far: Changing Tides may be exactly what you are looking for. What you probably won't be looking for, is a problem with Far: Changing Tides Crashing. But that's exactly what players have been experiencing. Instead of getting to explore a mysterious world, players instead get to bang their heads against a wall in frustration. Which, to be fair, is a much less enjoyable way to pass the time. And also much more likely to cause injury.
So in an effort to reduce the workload of our overburdened healthcare workers, we've assembled this explainer, to let you know what you might be able to do about crashes on Changing Tides. Normally, we'd insert some sort of shipping based pun about setting sail or something. But you can do that for yourself today.
How To Fix Changing Tides Crashing on PlayStation
Of course, a one-off crash probably isn't something to get too concerned by. But if you find yourself in a situation where the game is crashing frequently, then there are a couple of things you can try.
First and foremost, try clearing the PlayStation cache. To do, complete the following steps:
- Turn off your console fully. Make sure you don't enter Rest Mode.
- Wait for the console to power down, then unplug it from the power supply.
- Leave it disconnected for a minimum of thirty seconds.
- Once this time has elapsed, simply plug your console back in, and power it up as normal.

If this is unsuccessful, your next step is to try uninstalling the game, and then reinstalling it. Make sure you have completely removed the game from your console, and then reinstall it from your game library.
If you try both of these measures and nothing works, then we'd recommend getting in touch with the Support teams at Frontier, for additional help and advice. You can fill in a support request form here. But what else do we know about the Changing Tides crashing error?
What Is The Far: Changing Tides Crashing Error?
As you may have already suspected, the crashing error is, in fact, a crashing error. There you are, minding your own business, splicing your mainbrace, unfurling your mainsail, or whatever it is the kids do these days, and the game crashes.
Unfortunately, at this point it isn't entirely clear what is causing the issue, and the developers haven't told us. But clearing the cache and/or uninstalling the game may indicate an issue with some of the game files. Hopefully, this may be something that can be remedied by a patch in the near future. So we'd recommend keeping an eye out for any upcoming updates, and installing them as soon as you possibly can.
