Fantastic Four Reboot: Kevin Fiege discusses casting details

Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige recently spoke about the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot while speaking in an interview. Jon Watts will direct the Fantastic Four reboot, which Marvel announced at the end of last year. Other than announcing the director, Marvel has been pretty quiet about the reboot up until now.

Speaking exclusively with ComicBook.com, Fiege spoke about the reboot while promoting the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Fiege was still fairly vague about the film, providing no real details about its story. He did, however, provide a hint about the casting Marvel plans to include in the film.

“A beautiful combination”

Fiege spoke about Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot casting strategy: “I think the MCU is a beautiful combination of both (established actors and new faces)," Feige said. "I think you look no further than Simu in Shang-Chi, like Chris Hemsworth, like Tom Hiddleston, like Tom Holland, an actor that hadn't been seen by a tremendous amount of people before.”

“Or you have Benedict [Cumberbatch] stepping into Doctor Strange or Christian Bale stepping into Gor in our Thor film. It is always a beautiful combination of both, and it really is about the search for the best actor for the job whether that actor is known to the world yet or not,” added Fiege.

According to a reporter for Deadline, Marvel has only recently started meeting with writers for the film. This means it could be some time before Marvel releases details about the film and means it’s going to be awhile before the film even starts shooting. “We'll see what happens with upcoming gatherings and fan events where we can release more news. I hope sometime in the near future,” commented Fiege when asked about casting reveals.
