The Fable series is making a comeback with a new game for the current generation of gamers. Simply titled Fable, we're looking to share the latest information on its release date, trailer, and platforms.
The Fable games go all the way back to 2004, when the first game was released on the original Xbox. It has since produced a couple of sequels and spinoffs, but the latest we've seen of the franchise was Fable Trilogy, which was a bundle that included Fable Anniversary, Fable II, and Fable III back in 2014.
Almost a decade later, we're finally getting a new Fable game that looks to be a reboot of the franchise.
Fable 4 release date speculation
First announced in 2020, the highly anticipated Fable 4 still does not have a release date. Despite its prominent feature at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, no specific release date or even a tentative year has been revealed.
If we had to guess, we'd predict that the long-awaited Fable reboot may not grace our screens until late 2024, at the earliest. However, it is also plausible that the release could potentially extend into the year 2025.
Rest assured that we are diligently monitoring any updates from Microsoft, and as soon as new information becomes available, we will promptly update this post to keep you informed.
Fable 4 platforms
The Fable games have been exclusively reserved for Microsoft platforms. Therefore, the highly anticipated Fable reboot seems to follow suit, maintaining its allegiance to the Microsoft ecosystem.
Fable 4 will be playable on the following platforms:
- Windows
- Xbox Series X/S
Initially, Fable 4 will be released on Xbox consoles, followed by a PC release sometime later. With a high degree of confidence, we can assert that Fable will not be available on platforms other than Xbox and PC.
Fable 4 trailer
The latest Fable trailer was shown at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase and it gives us a peek at what the world of Albion looks like on modern-day graphics.
Have a look for yourself:
As you can see from the trailer, the latest in the Fable series is keeping its fantasy setting, and it's looking to be an action RPG with an open world. You might be surprised to learn that the footage shown at the Xbox Showcase was running natively on the Xbox Series X.
There isn't much to go on for the upcoming Fable game, but it is definitely on its way and it looks very promising!
