Tesla’s terrible memer and CEO Elon Musk has decided to change his official job title. What was once a respected CEO has now become a self-proclaimed “Technoking”. Presumably, it’s so articles like this will be written.
Revealed through an official filling at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk’s new job title is nothing but an attempt at a joke. However, Musk isn’t the only one with a new job title. Chief Financial Officer Zach Kirkhorn is now the company's “Master of Coin”.
What is Elon Musk’s role at Tesla?
Elon Musk now has two jobs at Tesla, so does Zach Kirkhorn. Musk now has the official title of Technoking as does Kirkhorn as Master of Coin, but the two will maintain their original roles.
“Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively,” reads the official documents. However, “Elon and Zach will also maintain their respective positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.” Essentially, nothing changes.
Why has Elon Musk done this?
A question for the ages. Who knows? Many believe it’s due to Musk’s recently lost status as the world’s richest person. Perhaps it’s due to the substantial 14% Tesla share price drop in the first two months of 2021. Maybe, Musk thinks he’s very funny.
Musk does have a reputation of being a person who believes he’s funny. The ”Technoking” stated that he has “some pretty kickass meme dealers” and that he loves memes in an official Q&A. Alongside that instance of “how do you do, fellow kids,” the Tesla CEO officially backed the DogeCoin cryptocurrency.
Maybe Musk will revoke his title as Technoking. He probably will not. Whatever the case, it’s happened.
