Dying Light 2 Black Screen: How To Fix Black Screen And Crashes On Xbox

Dying Light 2 has arrived with much fanfare, and no little discussion over its 500 hours of gameplay, its wide assortment of bugs. Xbox owners have escaped many of the game's technical issues, but they haven't been completely forgotten. And while it's perhaps an exclusive they don't want, the Dying Light 2 black screen issue is one that they can, for now at least, call their own.

If you find yourself suffering from a black screen or crashes while trying to play Dying Light 2 on your Xbox, there are potential fixes you can try. We'll discuss those fixes next.

How To Fix Black Screen And Crashes On Xbox

Whether you are playing on an Xbox One or an Xbox Series X|S, your first step is to try clearing the console cache. Here's how:

  • On Xbox One, power down your console and unplug it from the mains. Wait for a couple of minutes before plugging it back in.
  • Once it's plugged back in, keep watching the power brick, and wait for the light to change from white to orange. Once it does this, switch the console back on.

On Xbox Series X|S, the process is slightly different:

  • Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Devices and Conenctions.
  • Next click Blu-Ray in your menu.
  • Now select the Persistent Storage option in the menu.
  • Finally click Clear Persistent Storage.

Whichever console you are using, you may find that this does not resolve the issue. The recommendation at this point is to uninstall the game, then reinstall it. Techland has already produced some critical updates for the game. So make sure that these are downloaded and installed as well, before attempting to play the game again.

If even doing this is unsuccessful reach out to Techland Support for additional assistance.
