How to get the Cyberpunk 2077 third person mod, despite this hilarious swimming glitch video

If you've been spending time with Cyberpunk 2077 recently, then maybe you've found yourself wishing there was a way to play walk around Night City (or even swim in its shores) using a third-person perspective.

Sure, it's a pretty game in first-person, but maybe it just feels off to you because you prefer that over-the-shoulder look.

Well, what if there was a way to play in third-person? Would you want to play it like that?

Well, here's your chance. Keep on reading to learn all about the Cyberpunk 2077 Third Person mod, which seems to have a rather funny swimming glitch...

Say hello to the Cyberpunk 2077 Third Person mod

Fans have been modding games for years, of course, so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that a third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077 has been created so quickly.

After all, when a game doesn't provide something that a decent number of players would want, there's almost always a tech-savvy gamer out there with the skills to make it happen.

This time, it was a Nexus Mods user dubbed 'sarunama' who stepped up and made third-person gameplay possible in Cyberpunk 2077. There have already been over 12,000 downloads of the mod!

So it must be pretty good, right? And so, to help give you an idea of what to expect, here's a video of the mod:

As you can see, it's definitely Cyberpunk 2077 in third-person. Plenty of fans were calling out for this option, and now any of us can get it for free (if you don't mind fan-made mods, of course).

It's odd seeing the game running like this, and there's definitely a slightly uncanny valley feeling around it, but it's definitely better than literally not being able to shift out of the first-person perspective.

Beware of the swimming glitch!

Of course, before you consider doing using this mod and embracing a third-person perspective on Night City, it's worth noting that the game wasn't designed to be played like this.

This means you'll likely come across the odd error or glitch. However, that being said, if you're playing Cyberpunk 2077, you've probably hit a number of glitches already!

A YouTube called Slothability has brought to light one particularly funny glitch in the Cyberpunk 2077 Third Person mod. If you skip to 4 minutes and 5 seconds into the video below, you'll see what happens when you try to swim in the game after installing the mod.

As you can see, our trusty modder hasn't quite mastered the animation that should play when your character tries to swim.

In a meme-worthy sort of way, V's arms move just fine in the clip, but his legs don't move at all. That's some impressive upper-body strength, man!

Thankfully, this seems to be a cosmetic glitch rather than anything sinister or game-breaking, and it might even get patched out at a later date.
