Does the iPhone X support wireless charging? If you're on the hunt for a new phone and are looking through some of the older iPhone models, you may have asked just the same thing.
The iPhone X is still, much like the iPhone 11, a brilliant phone for most people that ticks more than a few boxes if you're looking for something less expensive than the recent releases, but still delivers for everyday usage.
But does it have the ever-useful wireless charging support? Here's everything you need to know, plus, more about some of the key features that make the iPhone X stand the test of time.
Does The iPhone X Support Wireless Charging?
The good news is that the iPhone X does support wireless charging, or rather is Qi-enabled. Wireless charging can be found on a number of iPhones prior to this series also.
The iPhone doesn't come with a wireless charger, however, so that's something you'll have to get separately, but rest assured the options are plentiful, like this one from Native Union or this affordable alternative from Belkin.
You've probably heard the term 'Mag-Safe' thrown around when you've been looking for wireless charging compatible iPhones too, so let's cover this off so you're in the know.
Does The iPhone X Support Mag-Safe Charging?
Mag-Safe charging was introduced alongside the iPhone 12 in October 2020. Mag-Safe wireless charger work like a wireless charging pad, although they actually stick to a certain spot on the back of the phone.
This has a couple of benefits:
One, it ensured that the coils are aligned which if you've read our breakdown of whether wireless charging pads are bad for your battery lifespan, you'll know is important.
Two, it allows you to pick up your phone and hold it sideways without having a cable going into one of your hands.

Since the iPhone X doesn't have a magnetic lock, it doesn't 'stick' to the charger, but Mag-Safe chargers are said to be compatible with the phone itself.
How Big Is The iPhone X Battery?
Wireless charging is great if you find you blast through your phone's battery and prefer it to be charging when you don't have it in hand, so factoring in your phone's mAh is important.
According to the Apple specs page the battery for the iPhone X is as follows:
- Talk time (wireless): Up to 21 hours
- Internet use: Up to 12 hours
- Video playback (wireless): Up to 13 hours
- Audio playback (wireless): Up to 60 hours
It also says that it can fast charge up to 50% in 30 minutes, however, we'd think you'd need this to be a wired charger over the typically less powerful (and therefore slower) wireless charging pads.

We also found that GSMarena.com states that the iPhone X battery is 2716 mAh. Now this isn't the biggest battery we've come across by any means, but this phone did release in 2017 so comparing it to recently released models becomes a bit redundant.
With fast charging and wireless charging though, you should be all good, and considering that the phone is typically priced at under $300, you're still getting a lot of bang for your buck.
