If you've been enjoying early access to Dreamlight Valley, then you may have already run into the Disney Dreamlight Valley Cloud Save error. And if you haven't encountered it yet, well, it helps to be forearmed, so you know what to do should it happen to you.

We'll explain exactly what the issue is, and what options you have for dealing with it. Because playing a game and being unable to save it can be more than a little frustrating.

Here's what we know so far.

How To Fix The Cloud Save Error On Disney Dreamlight Valley

At the moment, there appears to be one potential remedy for the cloud save issue. Namely, trying over and over again until it works.

The reported solution is to close the game, and restart your PC or console. Then try again. When you are prompted for a verification code, back out, re-enter, and it appears the issue resolves itself. As if your fairy Godmother waved her wand.

In reality, it doesn't have anything to do with her. In the official Gameloft game FAQs, it does acknowledge this is an ongoing issue and assures players that it is looking to provide a remedy as soon as possible.

What Is The Dreamlight Valley Cloud Save Error?

It isn't entirely clear why this is happening though. In the aforementioned FAQs, Gameloft state that:

At this time, due to many players moving to Disney Dreamlight Valley at once, players may need to retry several times to create a Cloud Save account.

Whether this is an indication that the servers are struggling to cope with demand is slightly speculative, but it would seem logical, if player volumes are being blamed for this issue.

It's worth reminding ourselves that Dreamlight Valley is currently in Early Access, and bugs and errors are an inevitable part of the experience, as the developers try to iron out major flaws in the game before its full release (due in 2023).

So while the experience is imperfect, it's the price you pay for getting to play the game months before everyone else. As we often recommend, keep an eye on the official Twitter account, as they will usually post updates about any fixes they have provided.

Make sure as well, to download any updates as soon as they become available. These will often contain fixes to a range of problems, and will hopefully lead to a better gaming experience as a result.

How To Enable Cloud Save in Dreamlight Valley

Of course, you may be wondering how and why to bother with Cloud Saves in the first place.

Well, Cloud Save is essential if you want to take advantage of the cross-save functionality within the game. Using this will allow you to continue your journey across all relevant platforms, provided you use the same account details to log into the game.

If this sounds like something you'd like to do, setting up Cloud Save is (in theory at least) simple:

  • Launch Disney Dreamlight Valley
  • In the main menu, select Cloud Save
  • Create your account using an email address and password
  • A confirmation code will be sent to your email address to verify you
  • Enter that code into the game, and you've enabled Cloud Save

This will then allow you to log in to other platforms, and pick up where you left off. Assuming it works, that is. If it doesn't, simply follow the steps we outlined above, and you should eventually get things working.

Now this cloud save issue is hopefully resolved, check out if there's a Disney Dreamlight Valley mobile version.
