Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't exactly had what we'd describe as a smooth launch.
Since it came out that reviews were solely done on the PC version of the game specifically to hide the state of the PS4 and Xbox One versions, it's been clear that things aren't really working.
There has been a constant stream of new bugs and problems since then too, which has led to things like refund requests and even Sony pulling the game from the PSN store, which is fairly unprecedented.
Well, one of the latest bugs will delete your save if it becomes too large, so it's a very good idea to make backups of your save data as a result.
Where is your save data kept?
The first thing you're going to need to know is where the saved data is actually kept. Without that, you're not going to be able to make a backup and well, that's kind of the whole point of this article.
So, your saved at should be here: %userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077.
It's important not to move it or mess around with it too much given how frail the game is anyway, but you'll need to know where it is to be able to back it up (pack it in, let me begin, I came to win, battle me that's a sin).

How to backup your save data
Backing up your data is actually pretty easy, all you need to do is copy the file.
We recommend copying it and then placing it in the cloud or in a different folder so that you can access it with ease.
You can then just copy it back into the main folder if something goes wrong.
