Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is now available for all current-gen users to play, but if they aren’t careful they might miss the whole campaign. Players have quickly discovered that the expansion’s entire quest line can easily be locked off forever by making one simple mistake, so start saving wisely.
A report from PC Gamer confirmed that they were locked out of the main story of Phantom Liberty after making the wrong decision. While most players will be able to make the correct decision and continue with the storyline, cautious ones might make the wrong choice and find themselves unable to continue the game’s pricey expansion.
To help players without spoiling anything, make sure you choose to stay at the end of the mission called ‘Lucretia My Reflection.’ Players are given a choice to stay or go. Iif they pick the latter, they are locked out of the DLC story they literally paid for.
It’s not all bad, since you can still freely explore this new section, pick up side quests and engage in classic tomfoolery. However, that’s not what Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty was made for and it would be a waste of money if you don’t, well, play it.
Still, it’s easy enough to avoid this fate, so most players won’t have to worry about accessing the new Phantom Liberty content. Alongside all of the features that come with 2.0, Phantom Liberty has a skill tree that’s all its own, a new romance option or two, and a new ending. Veterans are actually advised to start from the beginning so they can experience all of the new content in a seamless manner.
As the finale to Cyberpunk 2077, it seems that Phantom Liberty is a fitting send-off to this once troubled title. Now that CD Projekt Red is switching to Unreal Engine, we won’t be getting anything new with this title, aside from a couple of fixes for any potential bugs.
