Most fans will agree that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is an awesome expansion and a great way to end support for CD Projekt Red’s RPG. However, this massive piece of DLC isn’t perfect, with many gamers struggling to activate the DLC’s final story mission.
The final mission in Phantom Liberty is called ‘The Killing Moon,’ but some fans wouldn’t know that because it takes a long time to activate. Kotaku reports how they had to do several side quests before getting the mission to start, which took several in-game days.
Some Reddit threads have also talked about the difficulty of starting this final mission, with some players taking up to 20 in-game days. While some fans were able to get the story to progress, it seems that mandatory waiting was really part of the quest’s design.
A common way to proceed in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty seems to be completing the ‘Run This Town’ side quest. Players have said that doing this quest should lead to ‘The Killing Moon’ getting activated, though it still takes time. Even after doing this mission, some players still had to wait a number of in-game days.
It seems that the developers in CD Projekt Red really want players to enjoy their time in Dogtown, which is Phantom Liberty’s brand-new district. To be fair, there are a ton of activities to take part in, so players should have a fun time distracting themselves before doing the final mission.
Phantom Liberty is interesting, in that it wants players to really pay attention and take in everything in Dogtown. In fact, players can even lock themselves out of the entire story if they don’t make the right decision. Whatever the case, players who end up getting the expansion better enjoy it, because they’ll be in Dogtown for a good while.
