Cyberpunk 2077 is out now and people seem to be enjoying it for the most part.
It is, however, not all that well optimised for a lot of people, and that can make for a frustrating experience for those who've been waiting a long time for it.
The good news is that you can do a few things to help the game run a bit better on your PC, but you need to know what to do.
So, here's what you need to know to maximise the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on your PC.
What settings will improve your performance in Cyberpunk 2077?
There are a lot of different settings to play around with in Cyberpunk 2077, but most of them tax the performance a fair bit.
The first thing you should do it turn off chromatic aberration, motion blur, film grain, and depth of field. Each of these can leave the game looking more realistic, but not necessarily better, and they require more resources too.
If that's not done the trick, then it's worth lowering the graphical settings in general. Apparently, Cascaded Shadows Resolution is a big drain on your resources, so turning it off should improve things dramatically.

Can patches help performance?
Patches are integral to improving the optimisation of a game, and the latest one has just come out.
Patch 1.03 addressed a fair few issues, but a brief summary of it is this:
- Added performance and stability improvements.
- Optimized performance to improve framerates for RTX GPUs.
- Fixed sporadic crashes on PS4 and Xbox One/S.
- Fixed crashing problems.
- Addressed issues related to FPS drop.
- Addressed texture related issues.
- Fixed game loading issues.
- Added performance fixes.
- Other under the hood fixes.
It's important to note that these patches mean that people are still working on the game, and they've been working really hard, so be patient with the team behind the game.
