The first trailer for China’s Persona: Phantom of the Night mobile game has been revealed and it looks surprisingly great. Mobile tie-ins based on AAA games are often cheap cashgrabs, but this upcoming mobile game actually looks just like Persona 5.

From what can be seen in the trailer below, Phantom of the Night looks just like Persona 5 with a palette swap. Visually, it looks great, and the gameplay even has Persona 5’s iconic All-Out attacks, complete with stylish images after enemies die. It looks incredible and we’re actually a bit excited to check it out.

Siliconera reports that Persona: Phantom of the Night will focus on a girl named Arai, who is actually in the same class as Joker and Ann from Persona 5. Arai teams up with an owl-like creature named Lufer, who is basically Morgana but a bird. Like the Phantom Thieves before them, Arai and her friends will team up to take down immoral adults.

Despite being a free-to-play mobile title, Phantom of the Night clearly looks a lot like Persona 5. Walking around streets and going through palaces, it looks straight out of the original PS4 game (PS3 game if you want to get technical about it). Igor even appears with a new sexy blonde lady, so you know this is an official Persona game.

When Persona: Phantom of the Night was first unveiled, many thought that it would just be a cheap-looking free-to-play game with gacha mechanics. Though that could still be the case since characters from Persona 3, 4, and 5 are pretty popular, it looks like this game can stand on its own two feet. All we can do is hope that it’s a worthwhile experience in the end.

Persona: Phantom of the Night is still in development and will be made by the Chinese-based Perfect World. No English translation or worldwide release has been announced, though it has been confirmed for mobile devices and PC.
