It seems like an official Borderlands is just around the corner, with numerous leaks revealing the sequel is real. This isn’t just random people on the internet, as an actor and producer listed the shooter on their official resumes.
An actress named Angie Jho Lee recently listed this specific title on her resume. On the website, Jho Lee says she did voice-over work for a character named Aiyumi. Naturally, this got the attention of many Borderlands fans.
Jho Lee wasn’t the only one who mentioned this upcoming shooter, as Nadia Danova referenced the sequel on her LinkedIn. Donova references this title in her “Experience” section as part of the developer MoGi Group in 2021.
What makes Donova’s post more interesting is that she claims Borderlands 4 was supposed to come out this year. Granted, there are quite a few months left before 2024 but this is the latest installment in a huge franchise, so that needs more prep time.
That’s not to say that 2K Games hasn’t deprived fans of their post-apocalyptic series. Borderlands 3 actually came out in 2019 and launched with a ton of support, even getting current-gen upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series. Soon after, a spin-off shooter called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands gave fans more of the same gameplay in a D&D-inspired world.
Recent releases aside, 2K has also made sure to make every game in this series readily available. Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are all available on current-gen systems. Even Tales of the Borderlands is easily accessible, as 2K Games ended up getting the spin-off from Telltale Games.
There’s also a Borderlands movie in the works but that’s obviously on hold right now, due to the Hollywood strike. All we got from the film is a teaser image but given its stellar cast comprising of Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Jamie Lee Curtis, hopes are high.
