With the full launch of Blade and Sorcery behind us and players enjoying the 1.0 update while fighting off groups of enemies, Warpfrog is now focused on wrapping up the experience, finishing the Nomad port for Quest, and moving on to their next game.

Considering that Blade and Sorcery has remained one of the best PCVR games since its early access launch in 2018, it's no surprise that the title has grown a huge following despite the niche appeal of the best VR headsets. However, while it's unclear whether a Blade and Sorcery PSVR 2 port is coming, we know for certain that Blade and Sorcery 2 isn't Warpfrog's next game.

In a massive interview with StealthOptional, Warpfrog's The Baron reveals that Blade and Sorcery 2 isn't on the developer's schedule next. "When Blade and Sorcery is all wrapped up, we will be moving onto our next game, which is going to be an entirely new title,” The Baron says, implying that it's a new IP.

While Warpfrog's next title may or may not be another sword-fighting game, Blade and Sorcery's impressive physics will remain a focus for the developer. "I can definitely say the next game, and all future Warpfrog games, will be supported by the same pillars of Warpfrog design: physics-based, immersive simulation, 'non-gamey' design, sandbox (in the sense that you can play as you like, and are not forced into our vision of fun), and mods!"

Despite the lack of a sequel (and likely no sequel to one of the best Meta Quest 3 games in Nomad), The Baron shared his thoughts on where a sequel might take the next adventure, adding, "I would love to see something like an open world where you could travel between places and have random encounters on the road. Or perhaps a mechanic such as being able to sail between distant lands in Byeth."

While our Blade and Sorcery 1.0 review praises the experience, many people may wonder if a sequel would add more enemy types, similar to the Golem boss fight in Crystal Hunt. "Something I'd also love to see and wish we could have done in Blade and Sorcery is have creatures, such as monsters,” The Baron mentions, adding that “This is something we touch on in the lore of Blade and Sorcery, so it would be incredible to expand on and have interesting creatures to fight using the physics simulation."

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a while for Warpfrog's next title, and even longer for a potential Blade and Sorcery sequel. At the very least, this gives plenty of us a chance to upgrade to the best graphics cards for our VR-ready PC builds.
