With Baldur's Gate 3 very much in the early stages of Early Access, you might be wondering what you can do to change the game.
It could be a little while before Baldur's Gate 3 actually leaves Early Access, but that doesn't mean you can't mess around with some things already anyway.
In fact, there's already a fairly healthy modding scene for Baldur's Gate 3.
So, here's what you need to know about Baldur's Gate 3 mods.
What are the best Baldur's Gate 3 mods?
There are already countless mods for Baldur's Gate 3, and while we haven't had the chance to test all of them, these are the ones we really like the look of.
- Playable Mindflayer - Allows you to play as a Mindflayer
- Origin Character Unlock - Allows you to play as the Origin Characters
- DND Rebalancing - Changes up some of the rules to fit D&D better (we like it as it is, but you do you)
- Playable Monk Class - Adds in the monk class
- Scratch The Dog Retexture - Dogs are good, actually
There are plenty of other options here too, but not all of them work as well as they could as the game isn't finished yet.

Installing these mods is nice and easy. The first thing you need to do is go ahead and download Vortex, which is the mod manager from Nexus Mods.
It's remarkably easy to use, and there are loads of files and videos on how to do so.
Then, all you need to do is download the mods you want and you'll be able to activate them in Vortex before loading up the game.
Next, load up the game and live your best and most modded life. It's the simple things in life that'll make you happy, and sometimes playing as a monster with an octopus for a face is just that thing.
