Like many other products announced during CES 2024, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 is set to launch with a host of AI features. While some are certainly gimmicks to help during gaming sessions, it's an interesting and unique way to handle the ongoing AI trend.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8, now available to pre-order, comes in three varieties: the base model, the Pro model, and the Pro Edition model. All three come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, offering clock speeds of 3.3GHz, however, the higher models come with 16GB and 24GB of RAM as opposed to the base model's 12GB. This means that the higher models offer more RAM than the Samsung's S23 Ultra.

ASUS appears to be taking the ROG Phone 8 "beyond gaming", as the tagline states, with a focus on being the best gaming phone and the best premium phone on the market. However, that doesn't mean that ASUS is leaving gaming behind in focus on a larger market share.

Alongside some AI features to help with search results on the phone or noise cancellation, all three ROG Phone 8 models come with AI gimmicks to help you play the best Android games right now. The example of Genshin Impact was used, with AI Pattern Recognition allowing the phone to automatically pick up items, running locks, and more. Or use fast forward to make things quicker.

Interestingly, there's also the AI grabber, which will pick out any keywords from text in a game and ask you if you want to search the web for help. So, if you've just started a game like Genshin Impact and are finding a quest difficult, the ROG Phone 8 will save you some time.

Pair these neat features with the Pro Edition's included air cooler (or purchase it as an accessory) with the best phone controller and you'll have an incredible Android-gaming setup. Hopefully, all of the interesting specs and features will help make ASUS' latest phone one of the best phones on the market right now.
