After years of behind-the-scenes photos and rumours, we’re finally going to get Amazon’s Fallout series next year. Bethesda and Amazon announced that the show will be leaving its vault in 2024, with more previews of the show coming soon.
Fans who attended Gamescom (via GamesRadar) confirmed the information and also got to watch a teaser trailer. The attendees said this teaser featured a shootout, Brotherhood of Steel soldiers, and a woman emerging from her vault.
Bethesda’s Todd Howard also hyped up how Interstellar writer Jonathan Nolan will be involved in the Fallout show. Howard claims that Interstellar was a huge influence on Starfield and can’t wait to see what Nolan does for the Fallout series.
“One of the movies which inspired Starfield is the movie Interstellar, written by Jonathan Nolan – he goes by Jonah,” said Howard. “I got to know Jonah, and I always wanted to make a Fallout TV show. So, I talked to Jonah about it and we have been making the Fallout TV show that’s coming, and we thought we would give you a sneak peek.”
Previous leaks of the show got fans buzzing, due to how faithful the locations are when compared to the RPG series. While it doesn’t always ensure quality, seeing the show look just like the game series its based on does inspire some hope.
Although most of Bethesda’s attention is on Starfield these days, the Fallout community continues to be a strong one. Fans are still modding these games, with one fan fixing the Fallout 4 load times. Bethesda is also planning a current-gen upgrade for Fallout 4, though details on its release haven’t been revealed.
