Who are the Burgundians?
Burgundy is a region located in east-central France. While it is now known for its high quality wine and Dijon mustard, Burgundy itself has a rich history, largely based in the Middle Ages with the Dukes of Burgundy.
The Dukes of Burgundy, also known as the Grand Dukes of the West, created a vast empire in Western Europe that spanned from the North Sea and Holland to modern-day Switzerland.
The empire eventually ended when Burgundy was annexed by France following the 1477 Battle of Nancy in which Charles the Bold, the last Duke of Burgundy, was killed.

Burgundian Civilization Bonuses
The Burgundian civilization largely reflects this rich history seen during the Middle Ages.
As a Cavalry civilization, the Burgundians have a unique cavalry unit called the Coustillier. This unit has a powerful shock attack used when charging into battle, and is strong against infantry and archers. It is, however, weak to Camel Riders and Monks.
In terms of its bonuses, Burgundy's gunpowder units gain 25% attack, economic upgrades are available one Age earlier than other civs, and stable technologies cost 50% less.
The Burgundians also have their own unique technologies. The Burgundian Vineyards convert all food into gold at a 2:1 ration, with farmers also slowly generating gold. The Flemish Revolution technology also upgrades all existing Villagers into a Flemish Milita infantry unit- another unique Burgundy unit - and allows the creation of Flemish Militia at Town Centers.
