What is Apple Metaverse?

So, now we know that Apple is planning to work on the Metaverse. But, what exactly is Apple Metaverse? What would it be like?

To be clear, as of now, Apple doesn't have a Metaverse.

We are sure that you must have heard of the term Metaverse before. If you haven't, then here is a brief definition.

"The Metaverse is a massive, interconnected network of virtual spaces, that uses Virtual Reality, or Augmented Reality as we know it now, to immerse users in an alternate world."

While Meta's Metaverse utilizes virtual reality, Apple's Metaverse will use Augmented Reality. In fact, Apple is reportedly planning to launch its first AR/VR headset product this year for that purpose, probably.

Currently, there are 14,000 ARKit apps on the App Store. Some of them are extremely popular and are being used by millions of people all over the world. According to Tim Cook, the company is planning to invest more in that space.

So, it's pretty clear that Apple's main focus is on Augmented Realityand expanding its AR/VR ecosystem. Besides that, the company is focusing on gaming, communication, and content consumption as well.
