Is The Last Of Us 2 on PS4 or PS5?

This initial launch, on 19th June, will see The Last Of Us Part 2 releasing into the market as a PS4 exclusive. You won't be able to play it on any other consoles this June.

In an interview with CNET, PlayStation's CEO, Jim Ryan, confirmed suspicions that The Last of Us Part 2 will be playable on the PS5, stating that Joel and Ellie's latest story will "run on the PS5 without issue".

This comes after Sony announced that from July 13th onwards, any game in development for the PlayStation 4 for must be "forward compatible" with the next-gen console.

Ryan did not elaborate any further, but we wouldn't be surprised to see an enhanced version of the game dropping on Sony's next-gen hardware at some point down the road.

Nope, the game is not launching on any of Microsoft's Xbox consoles, and it probably never will. That's because Naughty Dog, the developer that makes the game, is owned by Sony.

With Sony launching the PS5 soon, Naughty Dog wouldn't want to do any favours to Microsoft's Xbox One or Xbox Series X consoles. Don't expect to see The Last Of Us 2 on either Xbox!

Is The Last Of Us 2 on PC?

The Last Of Us Part 2 will NOT launch on PC alongside its PS4 launch on the 19th June. To be honest, we would be surprised if it ever came to PC.

Saying that, Sony has been known to occasionally spread its exclusive titles onto computer-based platforms, but it would be a long time after launch if that ever happened.
