If you've previously owned a Quest headset, you might find the setup process somewhat familiar. However, if you're a new addition to the ranks of Quest owners, fear not – we're here to lend you a helping hand every step of the way.
In this guide, we'll show you how to set up your Meta Quest 3. But before that, make sure you are aware of all the critical details about your new headset such as its resolution and battery life.
How to set up Meta Quest 3
Setting up the Meta Quest 3 is a straightforward process, and in just a few steps, you can begin using it to explore virtual worlds. Follow along as we guide you through the process of getting your Quest 3 up and running.
Charge the headset
You’ll first need to charge the headset. Plug the charging cord into your Quest 3 headset and a power source to begin charging it. The charging indicator turns green once it's fully charged.
Be sure to take a look at the Meta Quest 3 charge time to avoid overcharging it. While it is okay to use the Oculus Quest 3 while charging, we don't recommend it as it may result in slower charging speeds and an increased risk of overheating.
Adjust your headset fit and view
Next, turn it on and adjust your headset. You'll want to gently adjust the After turning it on, adjust your headset. Shift the lenses gently left and right until they click into the clearest position for your screen view. Then, modify the side straps using the sliders on the top strap's sides.
If you're wearing glasses, make sure to insert the glasses spacer. When you're ready to put the headset on, put it on from the front to the back. You can fine-tune your headset fit and clarity by gently moving the firm arms on either side of your Quest 3 up and down to adjust the angle of the headset against your face.
Download the Meta Quest mobile app and create your account
After adjusting your headset, download the Meta Quest mobile app. A Meta account is required to use your device, apps and the app store. Create one during the device setup process in the app or log in to your existing account.
