How to get Twitch affiliate

By meeting specific criteria, you can become a Twitch affiliate too. This allows you to gain access to the monetisation features on their platforms, and start earning money from your streams like your favourite Twitch streamer.

To qualify for the Twitch Affiliate programme, you need a Twitch account that meets the following criteria in a 30-day period:

  1. Reach 50 followers.
  2. Stream for a total of 8 hours.
  3. Stream on 7 different days.
  4. Maintain an average of 3 viewers per stream.

When you're just starting out, getting to 50 Twitch followers and streaming for 8 hours might seem intimidating. But all you really need to do is stream what you enjoy the most, and it won't feel like a lot. Plus, if you're clearly having fun playing games and being engaging, watchers will naturally be attracted to press the Follow button to watch more.

You'll want to engage with your followers and even other fellow creators within the same community, by creating different social media accounts across different social platforms, including X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and more. Your social media handle should remain the same so that people can find you easily, and later, it will be useful for building up a brand for your steams.

To achieve a minimum of eight total hours over seven broadcasts, allocate at least two hours for each live-streaming session. As for attaining three viewers for every stream, consider asking your friends and family to follow and watch your streams.
