The Shiba Inu team has been very busy lately working on their next big project: Shibarium blockchain. Yeah! Shiba Inu blockchain is coming. It seems like the team has big plans for the future and is very serious about achieving them. The question is when will Shibarium launch? Let's find out!
What Is Shibarium Blockchain?
Shibarium blockchain is actually a Layer-2 solution that sits on an already existing Ethereum blockchain. Layer-2 solutions are third-party protocols that integrate with an underlying Layer-1 blockchain to increase transactional throughput.
According to the Shiba creator, Ryoshi, "the Line between an L2 and own blockchain is thin". So, in that sense, we can say that Shibarium aka L2 is Shiba Inu’s own blockchain. The goal of Shibarium is to cut down the high transaction fee and increase scalability.
Interestingly, the proposed Shibarium blockchain will host $BONE as its native token, not the high-performing $SHIB or $LEASH. The Shiba Inu creator, Ryoshi said "BONE will have a fair and “0” start" by doing so. Queenie, a Shiba Inu spokesperson, also confirmed that BONE will be the native gas token on the Shibarium layer-2 on the #ShibAMA Twitter space hosted by David Gokhshtein’s ‘Gokhshtein Media‘.
Besides its own blockchain, Ryoshi has plenty of other big projects for Shiba Inu. His vision is a decentralized financial totality. Oshiverse, Shi, Shibanet, The Decentralized Shiboshi Game, and Incubator are some of Ryoshi's future projects that will help him realize his vision.

When Will Shibarium Launch?
The Shibarium launch date is still unclear. However, SHIB developer Shytoshi Kusama mentioned that it should launch within a year. In September, he stated that Shibarium is in the mid-stage.
Moreover, ShibaSwap developer Eric M has commented on the progress of Shibarium, indicating that it’s coming “soon” on a Shiba Inu-focused Discord server. He said that the Shibarium blockchain is expected to be ready before Ethereum 2.0, which is scheduled to launch in June 2022.
The Shiba Inu team is working closely with Xfund to complete this blockchain project. The Shiba Inu Metaverse aka Oshiverse and Shibarium financial ecosystem will be built on the promised Shibarium blockchain.
