GPD's official website says that the GPD Win 4 is better than Steam Deck. But is that really the case? Let's find out!

The tech specifications of GDP Win 4 have officially been released, and it appears to be a strong competitor to Valve's Steam Deck. This PSP-like handheld gaming console packs a number of interesting features and powerful hardware.

Let's see how it stacks up against its rival, the Steam Deck!

GPD Win 4 Vs Steam Deck - Specs Comparison

First off, this handheld is a powerhouse of tech. It boasts an AMD Ryzen 7-6800U processor with 8 cores and 16 threads, paired with an AMD Radeon 680M GPU (16 RDNA2-based CUs).

GPD Win 4 features 16/32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB/2TB of storage (M.2 NVMe SSD). It can run Windows 11 Home (64-bit), as well as Steam OS. This thing is a beast for sure.

On the other hand, Steam Deck is a bit of a beast itself but its specs aren't as beefy as the GPD Win 4. It has a Zen 2 processor with 4 cores and 8 threads and Steam Deck's GPU features 8 RDNA2-based CUs with a variable frequency of 1.0-1.6 GHz.

The device offers 16 GB of LPDDR5 onboard RAM and when it comes to Steam Deck's storage, there are 64 GB eMMC, 256 GB NVMe SSD and 512 GB high-speed NVMe SSD variants. Not so bad, huh?

Under 1920×1080 resolution, AAA games are guaranteed to run at 45~60fps, claims the manufacturer. The company website revealed that FIFA 22 at Ultra settings will run at 100+FPS, while games like Elden Ring and Far Cry 6 will run smoothly at 60+FPS at medium settings.

The GPD Win 4 comes with a full-sized, concealed physical keyboard with dome-switch keys, whereas the Steam Deck only has a touch keyboard. A physical keyboard is pretty useful and convenient when you're using the device as a PC, so it's a great feature that many people really appreciate.
