2020 was a widely successful year for Google Stadia. After a rocky start following its initial 2019 release, the platform continued to expand its library of both free and premium games for Stadia Pro subscribers.
Given the explosion of streaming services such as Xbox Game Pass in 2020, Stadia faces fierce competition in the streaming market, meaning it will need to support the best games of 2021 and beyond.

Far Cry 6
Ubisoft's best-selling franchise returns for its sixth instalment in early 2021, accompanied by Giancarlo Esposito as Far Cry 6's main antagonist - Anton Castillo.
Far Cry 6 will throw players into the fictional island of Yara, in which a revolution is attempting to overthrow Castillo and free Yara from his dictatorship.
The latest Far Cry game will likely follow a similar format to the other five titles, but this won't stop it from being an essential title for Stadia's library in 2021.
Far Cry 6 was initially set to release in February 2021, before being pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ubisoft did not give another release date in this announcement.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition
This 2010 game gained almost as large a cult following as the original Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World film. It is set to release on Stadia in January 2021 as a Complete Edition, which will include the original DLC.

FIFA 21
While it often divides the gaming community, FIFA continues to be one of the best-selling franchises every year - meaning it is an essential title for Stadia to support.
FIFA 21's launch on Google Stadia was originally intended for 2020 but was pushed back into 2021 by EA. No official release date has been given for the latest FIFA yet, but we'd hope it would be in the first half of 2021.
FIFA on Google Stadia will be appealing to a huge group of football fans who want to play FIFA 21 on-the-go without resorting to the Nintendo Switch 'Legacy Edition' that offers a subpar experience compared to the console/PC version.
With EA committing further games to Stadia, hopefully FIFA 22 will launch simultaneously on Google Stadia and consoles.

Hitman 3
Following its predecessors, Hitman 3will launch on Google Stadia in late January, taking Agent 47 to new locations across the globe, including Dubai, Dartmoor and Berlin.
Hitman was previously free for Stadia Pro subscribers, so this new instalment should excite those who managed to pick up the previous Hitman games.

DIRT 5
Every platform needs a solid racing game to bring in more players, and Dirt 5's upcoming release on Google Stadia may do just that.
Initially released in November 2020, Codemasters' Dirt 5 sees players engage in off-road racing across the world. Alongside a campaign mode that includes voice acting from both Troy Baker and Nolan North, Dirt 5 also allows for four-player split-screen racing.
Codemasters has yet to confirm when Dirt 5 will release onto Google Stadia, beyond an 'Early 2020' window, so it shouldn't be too long a wait.
