Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown in talks to join Star Wars universe

Millie Bobby Brown’s star has risen over the past couple of years thanks to her role as Eleven in Stranger Things. Brown has already starred in movies like Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Enola Homes on Netflix, but now the actress might be working with Disney for a future Star Wars project.

The actor they’re looking for

A rumour from Mirror Online (via SFFGazette.com) claims that Millie Bobby Brown is in talks with Disney to take part in one of the company’s many Star Wars projects. If true, it seems that Disney wants Brown to be the central focus of one of their Star Wars shows for Disney+.

The rumour also claims that Brown’s Star Wars project could be down to connections. According to the report, her father is on good terms with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

"Millie is on Disney’s radar for the new Star Wars projects," this source claims. "She’s had contact with Kathleen, who is aware of her desire to feature in a movie or play a central role in one of the new TV projects for Disney +. Executives know just how much of an icon she is already for the 10 to 30-year-old audience and what that brings in terms of appeal."

While interest in Millie Bobby Brown isn’t surprising, it seems Disney and Kathleen Kennedy have a ton of confidence in the young actress since she might not have to audition for this role. Granted, she is a top star and most studios would be lucky to work with her, but that is a lot of confidence.

"And she doesn’t need to audition - it’s more a case of how the director and her bond," they continue. "She has the gravitas to hold down the lead for that universe."

Jedi mind tricks?

The news might be exciting for Star Wars and Stranger Things fans but they should take this news with a grain of salt. Keep in mind that these are rumours, so we’ll have to wait for more official news before we claim that Millie Bobby Brown is in an actual Star Wars project.

Now we won’t deny that Disney probably has an interest in the actress but her commitments seem to be Netflix-only, at least for now. We’re sure the two sides can talk things over, especially since Millie Bobby Brown is slowly becoming more of an adult.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of Star Wars content for Disney+ fans to enjoy. The finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi recently aired, getting a ton of praise from fans. We’re also expected to get The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka in 2023, so there’s a lot to enjoy, even without Millie Bobby Brown.
