Millie Bobby Brown to be paid £12 million for secret Star Wars role

Millie Bobby Brown’s stardom keeps growing, especially after Stranger Things Season 4. With the actress’ popularity at its height, rumours have circulated claiming that Disney wants Brown for one of their Star Wars projects.

Days later and those rumours have continued, now claiming that, if Millie Bobby Brown does end up appearing, Disney will be forking out for the privilege.

Millie-onaire

According to a report from Mirror, Millie Bobby Brown could be making up to £12 million for her Star Wars payday. Compared to other Star Wars female leads, this would be a massive increase.

Typcially, Disney gives newer actors a smaller base pay for their first few films, with an increase after contract negotiations to stay in the franchise. For example, Daisy Ridley’s work as Rey in The Force Awakens — a billion-dollar movie — made the actress between $100,000 and $300,000.

However, Brown is not a rising star, she’s a popular one. The actor is already making $1 million per Stranger Things episode, so it makes sense to give her a huge payment like this. Millie Bobby Brown is no longer a lesser-known actress and this huge payout could be frequent in her future career.

It also seems like Disney wants to target younger audiences with Millie Bobby Brown’s possible hiring. Most of their Star Wars projects tend to appeal to fans who grew up with the older films, so getting a young actress from a hot Netflix series should, in theory, get younger audiences interested.

“The Disney executives know just how much of an icon she is already for the 10 to 30-year-old audience and what that brings in terms of appeal,” claims the source. “She could easily take home $15m for a first film or series.”

Friends in the high ground

Reports also claim that Millie Bobby Brown and her father are good friends with LucasFilm head Kathleen Kennedy, who is aware of the actor’s desire to be in a Star Wars project. With friends like that, it’s easy to see how she could end up getting £12million for her role. It also helps that she’s now a well-known actor beloved by many.

Only time will tell if we’re really going to see Millie Bobby Brown appear in a Star Wars project. Those tend to come and go during the pre-production phase, with many of them getting re-worked into something new entirely. Hopefully, the folks at LucasFilm have learned from their bad experiences during the early Disney days because we want to see the Stranger Things actor in a good Star Wars movie or show.
