The Mandalorian ending is already planned at Lucasfilm

The Mandalorian has proven to be a major success for Disney and LucasFilm, launching a new generation of Star Wars spin-offs. While the Disney+ show has been greenlit for more seasons, The Mandalorian ending has reportedly been planned ahead of time.

Considering how the Star Wars sequel trilogy failed to nail the ending due to no plans, this is good news. Fans shouldn’t expect to see the series ending anytime soon but it’s good to know the creators are thinking ahead.

Who knows about The Mandalorian ending?

Speaking with Variety, Bo-Katan actress Katee Sackhoff hinted that she knows about The Mandalorian ending, particularly, when it will happen. While Sackhoff doesn’t give out the hints herself, the actress has been told the number of planned seasons thus far.

No clues about the season numbers were given, with Sackhoff saying fans will “just have to wait and see if that happens." It’s also worth noting that plans can change whenever Disney wants it too, so this planned ending could be delayed.

Variety: “How many seasons have they told you [The] Mandalorian will go for?”
Sackhoff: “You know, I have been told, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that happens.”

Star Wars won’t be stopping anytime soon

Despite a small possibility of The Mandalorian ending, there’s so much Star Wars content planned that fans won’t miss it. Sackhoff mentions how Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are always expanding the universe, so don’t expect a shortage in content.

“The good thing with Dave [Filoni] and Jon [Favreau] is that they’re constantly expanding this world, and I don’t think that Star Wars fans will be lacking for content any time soon,” says Sackhoff.

Fans will be able to check out The Mandalorian Season 3 next year, on February 2023.
