Daglas and Vitality are eliminated from LEC after the bloodiest series in the history of the competition

The semi-final of the losers' bracket of the League of Legends EMEA Championship 2024 spring split is behind us. Fnatic and Team Vitality, including Kacper "Daglas" Dagiel, faced each other. The Polish jungler was the last native player still counted in the game for the Spring Split championship. Well, he "counted". After this match, he shared the fate of the other Wisła players.

Vitality had a good start, but Fnatic was facing the match point

The first game started not too badly for Fnatic, but after a triple kill from Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié in the tenth minute and another triple, this time from Matyáš "Carzzy" Orság five minutes later, Vitality took control of the match. And it didn't give it back until the very end. Even despite Kyeong "Photon" Gyu-tae's considerable problems in the initial phase, the Korean's Malphite turned out to be more and more deadly as time passed and also contributed to the victory.

In match number two, Fnatic started even better, at one point they were leading six to one in kills. Once again, however, Vitality was able to equalize its rivals and even take the lead. However, after winning the mid-fight, the Black and Orange team captured the first Nashor, and although they had some problems later, Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek, who played Xayah, had so much momentum that their rivals were unable to contain him. The Korean finished the match with seventeen frags, and his team with the first point in the LEC podium series.

Having the right to choose a side for the first time, the Bees chose the blue corner as the starting one. And although the third clash itself was less bloody, it was definitely no less fierce. Only in the fifteenth minute, after winning the fight in the upper river, Fnatic caught the wind, and the annihilation immediately after Baron's appearance on Summoner's Rift ended with a smoothly captured beast for the team of Marek "Humanoid" Brázda. The purple monster's reinforcement was so powerful that VIT did not score a single frag until the very end and was on the brink of elimination in the 25th minute.

Will the upcoming playoffs of LEC 2024 Spring be as “bloody”? This will become clear on Saturday when Team BDS will be Fnatic’s rival. The stakes of this battle will be the grand final of the Spring Split, where G2 Esports is already waiting. However, this is not the only prize since the winner of the match will be the second to represent Europe at the Mid-Season Invitational. And for those who want to make a bit of money from their knowledge of the teams and players, there is LoL betting in both pre-match and live betting. All the more so because on League of Legends bookmakers usually offer quite favourable odds and plenty of prop bets!

Record-breaking chaos in the LEC

The fourth and decisive game of the series was an emotional rollercoaster. It started perfectly for the Bees, especially Carzzy, who already had four kills and no deaths. However, one teamfight completely erased the difference in gold, and after another victory, it seemed that Fnatic's final triumph was only a matter of time. And maybe that would have been the case if the Black and Orange had decided to set up a vision in the Baron's lair, but since they didn't, Vitality, to the surprise of its rivals, defeated the beast without any problems.

In the 27th minute, the Bees even had a chance to score an ace, but Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz Jiménez managed to escape with a piece of his life (and a lost passive). Just a few dozen seconds later, VIT again proved to be better in team fights and moved mid, but it did not reach the Nexus because the opponents respawned just in time. In fact, they not only managed to defend the core and expel the Vitality players, but also defeated several of them and thus captured Nashor. Then everything was on a knife's edge and each subsequent teamfight could have been the last.

This makes the circumstances in which the decision was made all the more strange. Three VIT players hid in the bushes of the blue jungle to find a lonely rival, and although the plan may have been good, the execution left much to be desired. Missed Grand Entrance from Zdravets "Hylissang" Iliev Galabov, Oscarin's escape, Carzzy's capture and the whole elaborate plan in... dust. At this stage of the game, losing three players (actually four, because Vetheo also died earlier) anywhere on the Rift basically automatically means failure.

Neither Daglas nor Vetheo managed to defend the Nexus, and Hylissang didn't even have to leave the base, because he wouldn't have achieved anything anyway. Ultimately, Fnatic can be happy with the podium and extending their chances of advancing to the Mid-Season Invitational 2024, the last Polish player is finishing the LEC spring split, and the competition itself has set a new record. Even though this series was decided after just four games, it provided the most eliminations in the entire history of the LEC so far.
