The unexpected but very welcome comeback continues: the ToeJam And Earl franchise, which originated in the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis days, has launched another Kickstarter campaign to keep its fans engaged. And this time, it's for a cookbook!
Last year, a successful Kickstarter gave fans a brand new game called ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove. (Incidentally, you can read my review of that ace little game, which I wrote in a previous job, at this link right here.)
Now, this unexpected second Kickstarter has appeared, and it's all set to bring some funky alien recipes into your life. Keep reading to learn how you can get involved...
What's actually in the ToeJam & Earl cookbook?
"ToeJam & Earl’s Funky Fresh Foods of Funkotron is a colorful, weird, and funky cookbook coming to you soon," reads the description on the Kickstarter.
"This official cookbook draws inspiration from the classic ToeJam & Earl video game series as well as real world foods and flavors. You don't have to be a fan of the series to get behind this cookbook.
"Just like the game series it's based on, Funky Fresh Foods is designed for beginners and pros alike. There is something for everyone in this book. It's weird, it's alien, it's interesting!"

How to buy the ToeJam & Earl cookbook
Right now, the only way to order your copy of the ToeJam & Earl cookbook is to throw some financial support behind the Kickstarter campaign.
There are a few different levels to this: if you pledge $15 USD, you'll get a PDF version of the book; if you pledge $35 USD, you get the PDF and a physical paperback copy of the book; and if you pledge $45 USD, you get the PDF and a hardback version of the book.
There are a few other Pledge options, as well, and you can see the full list if you click here to see the Kickstarter campaign page. Your money will only be taken if the campaign reaches its $35,000 target (which is £27,210 here in the UK).
We'd wager that is pretty likely, since over $10,000 has been raised, at the time of writing, after a just a couple of days - so with 28 days to go, it looks almost certain that this ToeJam & Earl cookbook will become a reality. So head over to the Kickstarter now to learn more, if you want!
