Cyberpunk 2077 is playable on Tesla Model S cars, but is that safe?

From out of nowhere, Tesla has announced a redesign of their 'Model S' line, the first huge update since its launch back in 2012.

if you've been keeping track of the electric car industry, Tesla have been leading the way, especially in America, with their innovative electric-charging and dashboard, where a 20-inch tablet is in place instead of what you expect when in the driver's seat.

However, one aspect that's taken many by surprise, is the fact that the internals are now so powerful, that there is a 'games' offering, so a passenger can play 'The Witcher 3', 'Fallout Shelter' and even 'Cyberpunk 2077'.

But is this even safe, and what could this mean for other games coming to the Tesla line of cars and trucks in the future? Lets find out.

Model S 2021 Refresh

From a refreshed exterior and an improved interior, such as a smaller bezel on the tablet, a different steering wheel, and a 520-mile range on the new Model S, there's plenty to like here.

However; you're here for the gaming details. It's already showing on Tesla's order page for the new Model S, where the tablet is showing a variety of games, as shown below by its CEO; Elon Musk.

While it's not shown as yet, he's confirmed that 'Cyberpunk 2077' can also be played. The system looks to be powered by an AMD CPU and GPU, where they quote that it can offer..."up to 10,000 teraflops of processing power, which enables gaming on-par with today's newest consoles via Tesla Arcade."

From this, we've got confirmation of a 'Tesla Arcade', and further in this quote, a wireless controller can be used.

Will it be safe to play?

Let's be realistic; playing a game like 'Cyberpunk 2077' or 'The Witcher 3' requires the player to have its full attention, especially with the bugs that 'Cyberpunk 2077' is still experiencing, 5 weeks after its release.

While there is another screen to the back of the car, it looks like the passengers sat here will be able to play it, while the main screen will be for watching.

Regardless of what you may think of Elon Musk and the company in general, it's refreshing to see this be introduced to their line. One can imagine someone exploiting this so someone can play their Nintendo Switch and 'Mario Kart 8' on both screens.

The new Model S can be bought from $79,990, which starts shipping in March. So if you have money to spend, this new model could be your best upgrade for 2021.
