Now the dust has settled on the first wave of PS5 pre-orders, gamers are weighing up the pros and cons of the two next-gen consoles. And now, some new images have shown us just how huge the PS5 size seems to be!
Of course, one of the most important aspects of a console is its size. As the gaming world continues to expand and new products come out every day, you need to assess whether you can fit a new console into your gaming setup.

A string of handy images have popped up on Twitter, with a user named @Keisawada showing us just how big the PS5 looks next to a Nintendo Switch, an Xbox One S, an Xbox Series X, and various sizes of TV. Take a look here for example...

How big is the PlayStation 5?
Sony has confirmed that the PS5 measures up like so: it's around 390mm (15.4 inches) tall, 260mm (10.24 inches) deep and 104mm (4.09 inches) wide.
Fans had already worked this out, though, using the side of the disc drive and the USB port to extrapolate the console's measurements.
The PS5 Digital Edition appears to be the same size as the standards PS5, albeit with a slightly smoother edge where the disc drive would be.

How does the PlayStation 5 compare to the Xbox Series X size?
We have known the size of the Xbox Series X for a while longer than the PS5, as the console itself was revealed at The Game Awards in 2019.
Microsoft has released the official dimensions of their next-gen console, which stands at 301mm tall and 151mm wide.
The PS5 appears to be much taller than its next-gen competitor but remains the slimmer of the two.

How does the PlayStation 5 compare to the PlayStation 4 size?
The PS4 was praised for being much more compact than its bulkier predecessor.
The PS5, however, stands much taller than the PS4 and the PS4 Pro, but this increase in size may help to counter many of the issues the original PlayStation 4 had with the noise the fans make when playing the latest releases.
Of course, the PS5's height does not mean its owners will need to have the console towering above other devices, for it has also been pictured lying on its side.
