Monolith’s Wonder Woman game was announced back in the 2021 Game Awards but we haven’t heard anything about it since. Just when it seemed like we would never hear about the game again, some concept art has appeared to give fans hope.

On LinkedIn, Monolith dev James Philip Gentile had concept art of the DC icon as his header image. Fans on the game’s subreddit attempted to reverse search the photo and didn’t get anything, seemingly confirming its part of the project.

Based on what we see in the image, Diana is in Themyscira with a fellow Amazon warrior and another woman wearing futuristic-looking armor. Diana’s costume also looks like it hasn’t appeared anywhere else, seemingly confirming that this is for her video game.

Considering the lack of news and updates surrounding Monolith’s Wonder Woman game, this has fans hoping for an announcement soon. With Gamescom on the horizon, that would be a good opportunity to re-introduce the title to gamers watching.

Previous information about the project claims that this will be an open-world title with Amazons from Themyscira and the normal world. Rumours have also persisted of the project re-using the nemesis system from Monolith’s Middle Earth games, which Warner Bros. patented. It would make sense to see that system used here, given the variety of enemies Diana often fights.

We also know that this will be an original story for the character, which is the current standard for superhero games. The upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League also has an original story, as will the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Speaking of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Wonder Woman was confirmed as one of the characters to appear in the game. It seems that she’s not being controlled by Brainiac and will aid the player. There doesn’t appear to be any indication that it will be set in the same universe as her solo game.
